520 _aBased on personal narratives and interviews, this volume is devoted to documenting and analyzing everyday life during the Japanese occupation. The first half, based on narratives submitted, attempts to record and classify according to themes, experiences and memories pertaining to food, transportation, health, leisure and other topics. T he second part publishes the transcripts of interviews with several Filipinos of different professions and walks of life in Bulacan and Pampanga (these are in Filipino). The third part of the book prints several first person Filipino accounts of the war. Not strictly speaking a historical study, the book attempts to show how people remembered the war.
