Ang seryeng ito ay nakaayon sa kurikulum na K to 12 ng Kagawaran ng Edukasyon o DepEd. Tumutugon ito sa hamon ng paghubog ng kabataang may tiyak at ipinagmamalaking pagkakakilanlang Pilipino na may pambansa at pandaigdigang pananaw. Layunin din nitong hubugin ang pangkabuuang pagunlad ng isang mag-aaral tungo sa pagiging kapaki-pakinabang at responsableng mamayang Pilipino.
