Fabrications of truth are nothing new. But in the new consensual reality of social media, fake news is believed and shared. Fake news has the sheen of truth, but to many even this doesn't matter much-no matter how outrageous, if it shores up our own opinions, if we want to believe, we simply believe. Truth is upended. This is where we are today, in the kingdom of fake news. This anthology gives authors and poets an opportunity to unleash the fake news in their heads, not just to draw more attention and critical thought but also to give us all a chance to fight back with the most powerful tools in our arsenal as writers-intent, imagination, technique, and of course, words.
